Narrative Director

Responsibilities

• Define a long-term narrative vision aligned with brand identity, tone, and strategy
• Establish fundamental narrative principles to guide the evolution of the shared universe
• Align project narrative directions and franchise stakeholders around a shared vision
• Design and lead shared narrative systems, including canonical lore, character arcs, and narrative frameworks
• Ensure consistency, credibility, and scalability of the narrative ecosystem across the brand
• Support projects with staging, narrative pacing, and story integration into gameplay
• Develop and maintain a narrative roadmap aligned with global brand strategy

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to think and structure storytelling at a brand scale over the long term
• Excellent understanding of player experience consistency and narrative identity
• Experience collaborating closely with Game Directors and Creative Directors
• Influence leadership skills with the ability to align and mobilize without direct hierarchical authority
• Strong strategic communication and synthesis skills
• Ability to disseminate and encourage narrative best practices in multi-project or multi-studio contexts
• Good understanding of AAA game development processes
• Strong interest in creative monitoring and reasoned narrative innovation
