MYOG Workshop Associate, Cold Work

Responsibilities

• Guide individuals and groups through hands-on glassmaking activities like sandblasting, engraving, and fused glass projects
• Teach or assist with Make Your Own Glass programs and workshops
• Support public programs, social events, and special activities
• Process glass projects including kiln operation, packaging, labeling, and shipping
• Prepare materials and supplies for daily programs and workshops
• Maintain studio equipment, workspaces, and production areas
• Monitor and replenish workshop inventory
• Maintain a safe working environment following Museum safety policies

Requirements

• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Willingness to learn technical glassmaking processes and equipment
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds infrequently
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Customer service experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint
• Experience in arts, education, hospitality, retail, or hands-on technical environments
