MV Switchgear Project Manager/Estimator

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for MV switchgear, protection & control, and LV distribution
• Review specifications, drawings, and tender documentation
• Undertake site surveys and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations
• Manage projects from award through to completion, including budgets and resource plans
• Coordinate internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Monitor commercial performance, profitability, and project programmes
• Manage client communications, stakeholder relationships, and progress meetings
• Manage commissioning, testing, and handover activities
• Prepare project forecasts and manage variations or change control
• Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with industry standards

Requirements

• Proven experience as an MV Project Manager, Electrical Estimator, or combined role
• Strong electrical engineering background
• Experience delivering MV switchgear, utilities, industrial, infrastructure, or data centre projects
• Ability to interpret single line diagrams, protection schemes, and electrical drawings
• Strong commercial awareness and technical knowledge of MV electrical distribution systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software
• Full UK Driving Licence

Preferred Qualifications

• HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering
• SMSTS, IOSH Managing Safely, and/or ECS/CSCS certifications
• Knowledge of control systems and automation
