About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and implement individualized music therapy interventions for students with special education needs
- Conduct individual and group music therapy sessions to address therapeutic goals
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and speech therapists to align with IEP goals
- Facilitate sessions aimed at improving emotional regulation, communication, and social skills
- Monitor and evaluate student progress through consistent assessment
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
Requirements
- Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC)
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Music Therapy from an AMTA approved program
- Completed 1,200 hours of clinical training, including a supervised internship
- Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Professional Liability Insurance
- Strong understanding of child development and special education
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school or clinical setting
