Multimedia Journalist

Responsibilities

• Research, write, and develop story ideas by evaluating news leads and tips
• Gather and verify factual information through interviews, observation, and research
• Shoot video and still photos to illustrate news stories
• Edit video content for multiple multimedia platforms using non-linear editing software
• Appear on television for taped interviews, narration, or live reports from the field
• Collaborate with photographers, news producers, and online staff to prepare newscasts and digital content

Requirements

• BS/BA in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience
• Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills
• Proficiency with computer literacy and newsroom computer systems
• Experience with videography and non-linear editing (Final Cut Pro or similar)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a related journalism field
• Knowledge of broadcast quality camera equipment
• Proficiency in posting content to various digital websites
