Multimedia Journalist

Responsibilities

• Generate, shoot, and edit news stories with minimal direction
• Produce daily content across a variety of multimedia platforms
• Develop and maintain sources and contacts to contribute daily story ideas
• Report live from the field on breaking news stories
• Set up interviews and appointments to provide background for assigned stories
• Maintain close communication with the news team, producers, and news director
• Participate in station-related community events

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism
• 1-2 years of professional reporting experience
• Full fluency in English and Spanish (reading and writing)
• Strong live television reporting skills and news judgment
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Strong understanding of news gathering ethical and legal issues
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations
