Multimedia Journalist

Responsibilities

• Gather information for stories and live reports for newscasts, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Provide coverage of breaking news, weather, and sports
• Produce high-quality video news packages
• Collaborate with reporters on special reports and documentaries
• Develop sources, pitch story ideas, and produce content for on-air, online, and digital platforms
• Shoot live shots and live interviews while tracking news stories

Requirements

• Professional or schooling experience in television news reporting, photography, and editing
• Strong creative writing and editing skills
• Ability to deliver news with authenticity to connect with viewers
• Proven ability to shoot and edit high-quality video
• Ability to provide samples of reporting and photography
• Experience developing local contacts
• Ability to handle the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast production
• Related military experience will be considered
