About the role
Responsibilities
- Gather information for stories and live reports for newscasts, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Provide coverage of breaking news, weather, and sports
- Produce high-quality video news packages
- Collaborate with reporters on special reports and documentaries
- Develop sources and create story ideas for on-air, online, and digital platforms
- Shoot live shots and live interviews while tracking news stories
Requirements
- Professional or schooling experience in television news reporting, photography, and editing
- Strong creative writing and editing skills
- Ability to deliver authentic reporting that connects with viewers
- Proven experience shooting and editing high-quality video
- Experience developing local contacts and sources
- Ability to handle the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive news production
- Must be able to provide samples of reporting and photography
