Multi-Skilled Journalist

Responsibilities

• Perform authoritative, compelling live shots during developing stories or breaking news situations
• Develop unique story ideas and mine the community to find diverse sources
• Research facts to ensure credibility and maintain high journalistic standards
• Shoot, write, produce, and edit high-quality content for both on-air and online platforms
• Use creative production techniques, including graphics and new media, to enhance storytelling
• Utilize social media and digital tools to research, discover, and distribute content
• Attend daily editorial meetings to contribute story ideas and collaborate with the team

Requirements

• 3-5 years of reporting experience preferred
• Solid news judgment and strong ethical decision-making skills
• Exceptional writing, production, and tease writing abilities
• Proven ability to create engaging social and digital content
• Ability to work under constant deadlines and handle live breaking news calmly
• Experience with ENPS, EDIUS, and Axis graphics is preferred
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a news gathering vehicle
• Knowledge of the Phoenix market is a plus
