Multi Skilled Journalist

Responsibilities

• Develop, research, and produce compelling story ideas for on-air and online platforms
• Shoot, write, produce, and edit high-quality video content under tight deadlines
• Perform authoritative live shots during developing stories or breaking news situations
• Mine the community to find diverse sources and maintain professional relationships
• Use creative production techniques, including graphics and new media, to enhance storytelling
• Utilize social media and digital tools to research, discover, and distribute content
• Attend daily editorial meetings to contribute story ideas and news strategy

Requirements

• 1-3 years of reporting experience preferred
• Solid news judgment and strong ethical decision-making skills
• Excellent writing, production, and tease-writing abilities
• Proven ability to create engaging social and digital content
• Ability to work calmly under constant deadlines and during live breaking news
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a news-gathering vehicle
• Knowledge of the San Angelo area is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ENPS, EDIUS, and Axis graphics
