Multi-Skilled Engineer

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive/breakdown maintenance
• Diagnose faults on PLC-controlled machinery, conveyors, packaging lines, and production equipment
• Perform electrical fault finding (motors, drives, sensors, control panels) and mechanical repairs
• Reduce downtime through efficient troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA)
• Support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and CI initiatives
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrading of new equipment and machinery
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, HACCP, Food Safety, and Engineering Standards
• Maintain accurate CMMS / maintenance records, job logs, and KPI reporting
• Work collaboratively with production and operations teams to improve OEE

Requirements

• Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND) in electrical or mechanical engineering
• Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer in FMCG, food manufacturing, or automated production
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Knowledge of PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi) is desirable
• Experience with conveyors, packaging machinery, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Understanding of PPM systems and Lean/TPM methodologies
