Multi-Skilled Driver (Nights)

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles including 7.5t box vans, cage vehicles, sweepers, HIAB vehicles, and winter maintenance gritting lorries
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and report defects in accordance with company policy
• Collect and remove fly-tipped waste from adopted highways across Bristol
• Tip vehicles at designated refuse facilities and manage the loading/unloading of waste materials safely
• Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements, including safe lifting practices and the use of appropriate PPE
• Use mobile IT equipment to complete daily paperwork and record work accurately
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of vehicles and equipment
• Work flexibly to provide cover across various services and locations as operationally required

Requirements

• Full clean Category C UK driving licence and CPC qualification
• Strong manual handling skills and experience working in physically demanding environments
• Proficiency in using mobile IT devices for documentation and following instructions
• Good knowledge of Bristol geography, including streets, depots, and disposal facilities
• Ability to participate in the winter on-call rota (October – March)
• Ability to gain additional winter maintenance, HIAB, and sweeper qualifications
