Multi-Skilled Driver

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles including 7.5t box vans, cage vehicles, sweepers, HIAB vehicles, and winter maintenance gritting lorries.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and report defects in accordance with company policy.
• Collect and remove fly-tipped waste from adopted highways across Bristol.
• Load and unload waste materials at designated refuse facilities following all health and safety requirements.
• Use mobile IT equipment to complete daily paperwork and record work.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of collection vehicles and equipment.
• Work flexibly across various services including Commercial, Street Cleansing, Garden Waste, and Refuse/Recycling.

Requirements

• Full clean Category C UK driving licence and CPC qualification.
• Strong manual handling skills and experience working in physically demanding environments.
• Proficiency in using mobile IT devices for documentation and instructions.
• Good knowledge of Bristol geography, including streets, depots, and disposal facilities.
• Ability to participate in the winter on-call rota (October – March).
• Strong situational awareness and a commitment to health and safety in public spaces.
