About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of aircraft components to ensure compliance with airworthiness standards
- Review documentation to verify compliance with workmanship standards and repair requirements
- Interpret technical data, including engineering drawings, prints, and Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Document product discrepancies and disposition non-conformances according to approved procedures
- Utilize SAP for processing transactions and maintaining organized inspection records
- Use various inspection methods, equipment, and tools to make product acceptance decisions
- Support quality initiatives and assist in the development of new inspection methods and procedures
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED)
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- At least 18 months of aviation-related practical experience or completion of an FAA-acceptable formal training course
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and BOMs
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by regulatory standards)
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to obtain an FAA Repairman certificate within 6 months of hire
- Familiarity with inspection methods, techniques, and equipment used to determine product airworthiness
- Previous experience using specialized inspection equipment and visual aids for aerospace products
