MRI Technologist

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic MRI procedures following established protocols while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality
• Review patient histories and MRI safety questionnaires to confirm procedure suitability and HIPAA compliance
• Position patients using age-appropriate hearing protection and immobilization to optimize anatomical visibility
• Select appropriate imaging coils and operate MR equipment, evaluating image quality and ensuring accurate documentation
• Prepare and administer contrast media under Radiologist supervision according to departmental guidelines
• Maintain MR safety standards for all patients and staff
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide clear instructions to patients and health professionals
• Maintain clean and well-stocked scan and control rooms

Requirements

• Registered MRI Technologist by the ARRT or ARMRIT
• OR enrolled in an MRI program and eligible to complete the ARRT or ARMRIT MRI Registry (first attempt required within 6 months of hire)
• OR Registered Radiologic Technologist eligible for internal MRI cross-training (first registry attempt required within 6 months of hire)

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent hospital-based MRI experience
• Experience with MRI advanced imaging and research
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records
• IV administration experience
