About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic MRI procedures following established protocols while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality
- Review patient histories and MRI safety questionnaires to confirm procedure suitability and HIPAA compliance
- Position patients using age-appropriate hearing protection and immobilization to optimize anatomical visibility
- Select appropriate imaging coils and operate MR equipment, evaluating image quality and ensuring accurate documentation
- Prepare and administer contrast media under Radiologist supervision according to departmental guidelines
- Maintain MR safety standards for all patients and staff
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide clear instructions to patients and health professionals
- Maintain clean and well-stocked scan and control rooms
Requirements
- Registered MRI Technologist by the ARRT or ARMRIT
- OR enrolled in an MRI program and eligible to complete the ARRT or ARMRIT MRI Registry (first attempt required within 6 months of hire)
- OR Registered Radiologic Technologist eligible for internal MRI cross-training (first registry attempt required within 6 months of hire)
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent hospital-based MRI experience
- Experience with MRI advanced imaging and research
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records
- IV administration experience
