About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as pilot in command (PIC) of MQ-9 aircraft and provide safe Launch and Recovery operations
- Participate in all phases of flight including planning, briefing, execution, debrief, and crew resource management
- Adhere to military, civilian, and ICAO flight rules including FAA regulations
- Provide expertise in unmanned aircraft operations and develop training materials
- Plan and perform in-process analog, digital, microwave, optical, and mechanical systems testing
- Support UAS integration into the National Airspace System (NAS)
Requirements
- Qualified C-Band Launch and Recovery MQ-9 Pilot or previously qualified (Form 8 within last 3 years)
- Minimum 200 hours as MQ-9 Pilot-in-Command (PIC)
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate or DoD equivalent
- Ability to maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Prior DoD pilot training (USAF UPT or equivalent fixed wing program)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to travel in CONUS
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- MQ-9 Launch and Recovery Instructor/Evaluator Pilot experience
- 500 MQ-9 flight hours
- Last flight within 180 days
