About the role
Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and edit technical content to support the creation of high-quality technical publications.
- Review Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) reports and coordinate with Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) teams to ensure alignment with Data Module (DM) content.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external customers, and government organizations such as NATEC to ensure documentation accuracy.
- Work with graphics teams to request, review, and incorporate required illustrations and visual assets.
- Integrate inputs from engineering, program requirements, and technical experts to develop clear, accurate documentation.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining style guidelines for technical writing and illustrations.
- Support proposal development through the preparation and editing of technical content.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or 12 years of equivalent related experience.
- Experience with military technical documentation and integrated logistics support standards (MIL-STDs, IETMs, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and utilize MTA and LSA data.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Ability to travel up to approximately 25% as needed.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, CAD modeling software, Catia, or Visual Mockup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with XML authoring and S1000D Data Module development.
- Experience with the EAGLE Publishing System or the NAVAIR Enterprise Common Source Database.
- 10+ years of military aviation experience.
- Knowledge of S1000D standards, Document Type Definitions (DTDs), and style sheets used in IETMs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe applications, and Oracle tools.
