MQ-25 Technical Author

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and edit technical content to support the creation of high-quality technical publications.
• Review Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) reports and coordinate with Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) teams to ensure alignment with Data Module (DM) content.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external customers, and government organizations such as NATEC to ensure documentation accuracy.
• Work with graphics teams to request, review, and incorporate required illustrations and visual assets.
• Integrate inputs from engineering, program requirements, and technical experts to develop clear, accurate documentation.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining style guidelines for technical writing and illustrations.
• Support proposal development through the preparation and editing of technical content.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or 12 years of equivalent related experience.
• Experience with military technical documentation and integrated logistics support standards (MIL-STDs, IETMs, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and utilize MTA and LSA data.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• Ability to travel up to approximately 25% as needed.
• Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, CAD modeling software, Catia, or Visual Mockup.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with XML authoring and S1000D Data Module development.
• Experience with the EAGLE Publishing System or the NAVAIR Enterprise Common Source Database.
• 10+ years of military aviation experience.
• Knowledge of S1000D standards, Document Type Definitions (DTDs), and style sheets used in IETMs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe applications, and Oracle tools.
