MPCI Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Examine insurance documents including applications, production reports, and acreage reports to apply underwriting rules.
• Enter and update policy information, production data, and acreage report data into computer systems.
• Verify information accuracy against edits and correct any identified errors.
• Communicate with agents, FSA county offices, field personnel, and policyholders via phone and letter to resolve inquiries.
• Review and analyze scanned document images and route them to appropriate work queues.
• Prepare, print, and analyze various reports and policy forms.
• Assist with the training of Underwriting Assistants and part-time personnel as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months of experience as an Underwriter Assistant or 1 year of previous crop underwriting experience, OR a baccalaureate degree.
• Proficiency in basic keyboarding and ten-key skills.
• Ability to perform basic and complex mathematical calculations.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to maintain professional communication and business relationships.

• Competitive pay range of $54,000.00 to $76,000.00 based on skills and experience.
