About the role

Responsibilities

  • Translate material properties into motor-level performance deltas like torque, power, and thermal headroom
  • Work directly with design teams at defense, aerospace, EV, and gridscale power electronics companies
  • Build performance models using thermal, electromagnetic, and dielectric modeling
  • Lead technical dialogues on winding design, slot fill, and insulation compatibility
  • Define initial product SKUs based on customer use cases and requirements
  • Support customer qualification through testing such as HIPOT, partial discharge, and thermal aging
  • Represent the company at customer reviews and technical conferences

Requirements

  • 5+ years in motor design, electrical machines, power electronics, or traction drive engineering
  • Fluency in winding design and insulation systems
  • Strong understanding of thermal and dielectric constraints in high-power motors
  • Ability to interface between material science and system-level electrical engineering
  • Strong customer-facing technical communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with defense or aerospace motor programs
  • Experience with 800V+ systems
  • Experience with high-speed motors (above 20,000 rpm)
