About the role
Responsibilities
- Translate material properties into motor-level performance deltas like torque, power, and thermal headroom
- Work directly with design teams at defense, aerospace, EV, and gridscale power electronics companies
- Build performance models using thermal, electromagnetic, and dielectric modeling
- Lead technical dialogues on winding design, slot fill, and insulation compatibility
- Define initial product SKUs based on customer use cases and requirements
- Support customer qualification through testing such as HIPOT, partial discharge, and thermal aging
- Represent the company at customer reviews and technical conferences
Requirements
- 5+ years in motor design, electrical machines, power electronics, or traction drive engineering
- Fluency in winding design and insulation systems
- Strong understanding of thermal and dielectric constraints in high-power motors
- Ability to interface between material science and system-level electrical engineering
- Strong customer-facing technical communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with defense or aerospace motor programs
- Experience with 800V+ systems
- Experience with high-speed motors (above 20,000 rpm)
