Motor Vehicle Operator II - Delivery Driver

Responsibilities

• Deliver packages, palletized goods, and equipment to the Iowa State University community.
• Read work orders to determine materials for transport and verify loads against orders.
• Load and unload cargo, including hazardous materials or sensitive instruments, using proper securing techniques.
• Perform vehicle maintenance, including cleaning, washing, and refueling.
• Act as a laborer in a fast-paced warehouse environment when not driving.
• Assemble furniture or exhibits as required.
• Respond to emergency service calls, such as snow removal, as needed.

Requirements

• One year of experience driving trucks.
• Possession of an appropriate class driver's license (Class A, B, C, or D) for the vehicles driven.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Physical stamina for climbing stairs and performing heavy manual labor.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in package and freight delivery.
• Warehouse receiving experience.
• Proficiency using electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and computers.
• Experience operating forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
