About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on government vehicles and equipment
  • Conduct Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) in accordance with technical manuals
  • Utilize Army maintenance management systems such as GCSS-Army to record faults and equipment status
  • Update inspection records and maintenance documentation (DA Form 5988-E / DA Form 2404)
  • Test and inspect engines, brakes, electrical systems, steering, and suspension components
  • Support field maintenance operations at motor pools and training areas across Fort Gordon
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance performed, parts used, and inspection results

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience as a motor vehicle or equipment mechanic
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical vehicle systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and maintenance procedures
  • Ability to obtain and maintain installation access to Fort Gordon, GA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting U.S. Army vehicle or equipment maintenance operations
  • Familiarity with Army maintenance programs and policies (AR 750-1, DA PAM 750-8)
  • Experience using GCSS-Army or other Army maintenance management systems
  • Experience working in a military motor pool or TRADOC environment
