Motor Equip Body Mechanic, Metal (Travel)

Responsibilities

• Repair damaged bodies and parts of automotive vehicles, including automobiles, buses, and light trucks.
• Perform journeyman welding in maintenance and repair shops on parts and bodies for mobile industrial equipment.
• Plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair metal body parts to recondition and modify equipment.
• Install components required by Maintenance Work Order Requests (MWORs), such as cabs, cowls, doors, and frames.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic equipment to straighten bent frames and remove dents.
• Refinish repaired surfaces using paint spray guns and sanders.
• Provide technical direction, coordination, and on-the-job assistance to other technicians.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control functions on completed work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of five (5) years of documented, verifiable work experience in the metal mechanic field.
• Proficiency in structural welding (subject to a pre-employment test).
• Valid and current state driver's license.
• US Citizenship (required for facility credentials/authorization).
• Ability to travel up to 100%.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check.
• Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and other hours as needed.
