Mortgage Specialist

Responsibilities

• Cultivate, build, and manage relationships with a referral network to drive new mortgage business and increase market share.
• Proactively contact referral sources and create local partnerships to discuss home financing solutions.
• Guide customers through the entire mortgage application and processing lifecycle, serving as a dedicated customer advocate.
• Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities to refer customers to appropriate BMO partners for everyday banking, lending, and investments.
• Execute effective marketing and sales programs to achieve individual sales and profitability goals.
• Ensure all transactions and documentation comply with corporate policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Stay informed on industry trends, consumer needs, and best practices within the mortgage market.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending or a related financial services field.
• Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In-depth understanding of the mortgage lending process and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Strong interpersonal, sales, and negotiation skills.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of the broader real estate industry and mortgage market.
