Mortgage Loan Originator/Qualified Individual

Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated Qualified Individual (QI) for states including CA, CT, DE, MA, PA, RI, and VT
• Originate loans, take applications, and negotiate terms in full compliance with federal and state laws
• Guide borrowers through a technology-driven, self-service origination process
• Manage a loan pipeline within a high-volume, technology-enabled environment
• Collaborate with engineering, product, compliance, and operations teams to improve mortgage workflows
• Maintain active MLO licensing and fulfill all continuing education requirements

Requirements

• Active NMLS registration and MLO license(s) in good standing
• Minimum 5 years of verifiable mortgage origination or mortgage banking experience
• Proficiency with conventional (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac) loan programs and guidelines
• Demonstrated understanding of the MLO role under the SAFE Act
• Ability to obtain additional state MLO licenses quickly
• Comfort working in a non-traditional, technology-first, and AI-driven environment
• Clean credit and employment history meeting character and fitness standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at a tech-forward mortgage company or fintech lender
• Background in loan processing, loan officer assistance, or compliance
• Experience working in a high-growth startup or early-stage lending environment
• Multi-disciplinary experience in marketing or operations
