Mortgage Loan Originator

Responsibilities

• Proactively generate residential mortgage business through outside sales, open houses, referral networks, and community events.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with realtors, builders, attorneys, financial advisors, and other Centers of Influence (COIs).
• Provide high-touch service throughout the mortgage process, from application through closing.
• Meet with members and prospects in person to assess needs, advise on loan options, and collect documentation.
• Maintain strong knowledge of mortgage guidelines, investor policies, pricing, and compliance requirements.
• Host educational seminars and community-facing events to promote lending services and solicit referrals.
• Maintain a detailed pipeline report and ensure consistent communication with all stakeholders.

Requirements

• Active NMLS license in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in mortgage lending, with at least 80% of production being self-sourced.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding production goals through outside sales.
• Strong knowledge of RESPA, Reg Z, TRID, and residential loan products.
• Proficiency with loan origination systems, preferably Encompass 360.
• Reliable transportation for field-based work and a willingness to spend the majority of working hours in face-to-face meetings.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for client appointments and events.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• Strong networking and public speaking skills for presenting to small and large groups.
