Mortgage Loan Officer

Responsibilities

• Originate high quality residential mortgage loans meeting investor guidelines and lending policy
• Meet minimum sales production goals set by senior management
• Establish and maintain a network of internal and external referral sources including real estate brokers, attorneys, and accountants
• Promote residential loan products through regular contact with referral sources
• Pre-qualify borrowers and counsel prospective buyers on appropriate programs
• Coordinate homeownership promotion activities such as seminars and workshops
• Ensure quality and timeliness of mortgage application documentation
• Comply with SAFE Act legislation and generate accurate loan disclosures (RESPA, Reg Z, HMDA, Reg B)
• Manage mortgage pipeline effectively in coordination with processors

Requirements

• At least three years of residential lending sales experience
• Proven track record of meeting sales and production goals
• Associates Degree
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Ability to analyze personal and business financial documents
• Knowledge of mortgage industry regulatory, policy, and compliance issues
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and handle high-volume, fast-paced environments
• Ability to perform basic math calculations including debt ratios

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree
• Experience producing work that meets specific compliance requirements (RESPA, Reg Z, HMDA, Reg B)
• Experience originating loans for FHLMC/FNMA, FHA, and VA
• Knowledge of the Secondary Market
