Mortgage Credit Team Lead

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of Credit Initiation Specialists, ensuring task quality and performance goals are met
• Manage credit exceptions using specialized knowledge and signing authority
• Train and coach team members on mortgage credit processes and decision-making
• Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of customer documentation and computerized records
• Interpret credit policies and procedures to guide staff in resolving complex problems
• Develop strategies to control the pipeline and monitor key performance indicators
• Prepare reports and present process metrics to leadership
• Assess risk in business decisions to safeguard the firm's reputation and assets

Requirements

• Proven experience in team management and leadership
• Deep knowledge of mortgage credit stages, including capacity to pay, DTI, and PTI
• Proficiency with the Cronos system
• Strong expertise in credit policy and mortgage credit decision-making
• Ability to develop work instructions and control lines
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent university education
• Availability to work flexible hours during month-end closing periods
