Morning Executive Producer

Responsibilities

• Lead the editorial content and strategy for 9NEWS Mornings, driving breaking news, weather, and dynamic local storytelling.
• Supervise producers, writers, anchors, and MSJs to create compelling, forward-thinking newscasts.
• Set the editorial tone and direction, ensuring content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with the station's brand.
• Direct breaking news and weather coverage, making fast, informed decisions during live broadcasts.
• Collaborate with digital teams to enhance multi-platform storytelling and SEO-friendly strategies.
• Mentor staff and foster a collaborative culture through daily editorial meetings and post-show critiques.
• Use analytics and TEGNA tools to drive innovation in show format and viewer experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in broadcast news.
• 2+ years of experience in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in ENPS and digital CMS tools.
• Deep understanding of journalistic ethics and editorial judgment.
• Demonstrated success producing high-impact, high-energy news programs.
