Morning Edition Producer

Responsibilities

• Work with the Morning Edition Host and Managing Editor to create local reported pieces and assemble program elements.
• Plan, book, pre-interview, research, and edit host interviews for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Produce morning newscasts in collaboration with the Host and news editors.
• Provide fill-in hosting for Morning Edition as needed.
• Scan news sources to stay updated on New Hampshire and regional news.
• Edit newscast audio hourly for digital use on NPR One and other platforms.
• Participate in daily editorial meetings and on-air fundraising activities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of reporting experience.
• Strong radio script writing and editing skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Audition and broadcast automation systems (e.g., Audio Vault).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• B.A. in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop sources and produce original news coverage.
• Strong news judgment and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of New Hampshire issues.
• Experience producing or editing digital media, including video or interactive media.
