Moodle Developer

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and customize Moodle LMS to meet specific business requirements
• Develop and maintain custom plugins, blocks, and themes
• Perform Moodle version upgrades while ensuring backward compatibility
• Integrate Moodle with third-party systems and applications using REST or SOAP APIs
• Optimize application performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure platform stability
• Manage databases using MySQL or PostgreSQL for performance tuning and efficient queries
• Ensure system security, regular backups, and compliance with data protection standards
• Collaborate with instructional designers, administrators, and QA teams to deliver seamless eLearning experiences
• Document all technical processes, configurations, and solutions

Requirements

• Proven experience in Moodle LMS installation, configuration, and customization
• Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL/PostgreSQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Hands-on experience with API integrations and web services
• Familiarity with Linux-based hosting environments and basic server administration
• Proficiency with version control tools such as Git or Bitbucket
• Solid understanding of system security, performance tuning, and troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of eLearning standards including SCORM and xAPI
• Experience working within Agile development environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Moodle or cloud-related certifications
