Monitoring and Performance Administrator

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage comprehensive monitoring solutions for servers, networks, and applications
• Analyze system performance metrics to identify bottlenecks, trends, and areas for improvement
• Respond to system alerts, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with relevant teams for efficient resolution
• Perform capacity planning to assess current system usage and forecast future resource needs
• Maintain notification and escalation tools to ensure proper configuration and reduce alert fatigue
• Document system configurations, performance metrics, and incident resolutions
• Collaborate with IT, development, and operations teams to recommend system enhancements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management
• Proficiency with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds (NPM, SAM, NCM), Nagios, Zabbix, or Datadog
• Strong knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, SNMP, and HTTP
• Experience with performance tuning, log analysis, and troubleshooting network/server issues
• Ability to interpret complex data sets and communicate technical information to stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure monitoring (AWS, Azure)
• Knowledge of network automation and scripting languages such as Python or Ansible
• SolarWinds training or professional certification
• Networking certifications such as CCNA or CompTIA Network+
