Monitor Tech

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors
• Transcribe physician orders in the absence of CPOE and EMR clinical documentation systems
• Verify that lab and radiology tests have been ordered and completed
• Prepare and compile records in Med/Surg/Telemetry units
• Order supplies for the unit and complete necessary patient chart forms daily
• Assist nursing staff with indirect patient care duties as needed

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate
• Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
• Minimum of 6 months of previous experience in healthcare or as a Monitor Technician
