Molecular Technologist

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen labeling, processing, test performance, and storage
• Follow standard operating procedures for specimen handling and test analyses
• Execute TEM-PCR lab duties including sample sorting, spin, decap, and batching
• Prepare PCR and extraction reagents
• Maintain accurate documentation for specimen traceability and corrective actions
• Stock laboratory supplies and decontaminate testing areas
• Adhere to quality control policies and safety guidelines

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or a Life Science (Biology or Chemistry)
• Ability to qualify as Testing Personnel per CLIA rule § 493.1489
• Proficiency with basic computer programs
• Ability to work 3rd shift (Tuesday - Friday, 1:00am - 10:00am)
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather if safe
• Physical ability to stand or walk for majority of shift and maintain hand-eye coordination

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a High Complexity Clinical Laboratory
• Laboratory certification
