Molecular Genomics Technologist

Responsibilities

• Perform complex clinical molecular diagnostic assays and NGS testing to support cancer patient treatment and clinical trial eligibility
• Receive, process, and prepare specimens including centrifugation and aliquotting of blood and body fluids
• Execute all procedures designated under CLIA ‘88 rules for high complexity testing
• Maintain and troubleshoot automated and conventional laboratory equipment and instrumentation
• Analyze test and quality control results for errors or deviations and document troubleshooting steps
• Report all test results accurately within the laboratory information system (LIS) according to turnaround time goals
• Manage reagent and control material inventory to ensure continuous testing capabilities

Requirements

• Must satisfy CLIA ‘88 qualification requirements for high complexity testing personnel
• Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or a related field from an accredited institution
• Knowledge of automated and conventional laboratory equipment and testing methodologies
• Proficiency in using laboratory and hospital information systems
• Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in high-volume, high-stress clinical environments

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of pertinent laboratory experience, specifically in Molecular Genomics
• Certification or eligibility as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Molecular Biology (MB) through ASCP or an equivalent body
