Moldmaker/Toolmaker

Responsibilities

• Repair or modify mold components including cavities, cores, lifters, slides, and ejector systems
• Operate sinker EDM and wire EDM equipment for precise machining and restoration of intricate features
• Utilize CNC machining centers and Mastercam programming to fabricate and modify mold components
• Perform precision welding (e.g., TIG micro-welding) to rebuild worn areas and repair damaged components
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Asset Lifecycle System (ALS), including maintenance logs and mold history
• Monitor and maintain inventory of replacement parts and consumables to prevent production delays

Requirements

• Two-year degree, college courses, or technical/trade-school certification
• 5+ years of experience in mold maintenance, toolmaking, or precision machining
• Strong understanding of injection mold design and components (cores, cavities, runners, gating, etc.)
• Proficiency with CNC machining, grinding equipment, and both wire and sinker EDM operations
• Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, mold prints, and GD&T specifications
• Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
