Mold Setter

Responsibilities

• Install, remove, and secure molds in injection molding or die-casting machines according to production requirements
• Perform mold changes in a timely, safe, and efficient manner to minimize downtime
• Set machine parameters, conduct test runs, and make adjustments to optimize part quality and cycle times
• Inspect and clean molds before and after installation to ensure operational readiness
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for mold and equipment repairs or preventive maintenance
• Monitor production runs to troubleshoot molding issues such as flashing, short shots, or warping
• Document mold changes, setups, and process parameters accurately in production logs
• Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and proper use of lifting equipment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2–5 years of experience as a mold setter in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in mathematics and the ability to read and understand technical instructions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to obtain lift truck and crane certification within 30 days of hire
• Ability to work in industrial conditions, including environments that are oily, greasy, or near heated molds

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating overhead cranes
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
• Previous mechanical maintenance experience
• Proficiency with mechanical, impact wrenches, and various hand tools
• Knowledge of simple electrical troubleshooting
