About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of complex injection molds, including multi-cavity and hot runner systems
  • Disassemble, inspect, diagnose, and rebuild tooling components to restore performance and extend mold life
  • Machine and fit precision components using toolroom equipment such as mills, grinders, lathes, and polishing tools
  • Analyze mold failures and defects like flash or short shots and implement corrective actions
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on molds
  • Document all maintenance, repairs, and preventive activities in Maximo (CMMS) to ensure compliance and traceability
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve tooling-related issues and ensure optimal uptime

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Fluent English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience with precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators
  • Knowledge of injection mold repair and maintenance
  • Ability to work onsite in Houston, TX on a Wednesday–Saturday, 4/10 schedule (4:00am - 2:30pm)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in precision toolmaking and injection mold repair
  • Strong systematic, root cause-driven troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with mold disassembly, inspection, fitting, and reassembly processes
  • Experience working in a high-precision toolroom or industrial manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with CMMS software and basic computer skills
