Mohs Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and review health survey data to develop care plans
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative education to patients and families
• Prepare surgical areas by organizing instruments, equipment, and anesthesia
• Assist surgeons during procedures by scrubbing in, handing instruments, and cutting sutures
• Maintain a sterile operative field and ensure the surgical environment is compliant with protocols
• Administer anesthesia under direct physician supervision
• Document all patient care and Mohs procedure notes within the EMR system
• Operate and maintain surgical equipment, including the autoclave
• Assist patients with mobility following surgery to ensure safety

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical assistant or surgical technician
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Expertise in surgical instrument use and maintaining sterile environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in dermatology
