About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments and review health survey data to develop care plans
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative education to patients and families
- Prepare surgical areas by organizing instruments, equipment, and anesthesia
- Assist surgeons during procedures, including scrubbing in and maintaining a sterile field
- Administer anesthesia under direct physician supervision
- Document patient care and Mohs procedure notes within the EMR system
- Maintain a sterile environment and operate surgical equipment like autoclaves
- Monitor patient safety during procedures and recovery
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical assistant or surgical technician
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Expertise in surgical instruments and sterile environment maintenance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in dermatology
