Mohs Histotechnician

Responsibilities

• Support the Mohs surgeon by ensuring accurate and efficient preparation of tissue specimens
• Assist with specimen grossing, tissue processing, embedding, cutting, and staining
• Maintain a clean and well-functioning laboratory environment
• Adhere to established policies, procedures, and quality control standards
• Interact effectively with superiors, peers, physicians, and patients

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with Mohs procedures
• Certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL, ASCP) or Histotechnician (HT, ASCP)
• 24 semester hours in medical laboratory technology OR 24 semester hours in science (specific chemistry/biology requirements apply)
• Associate degree in chemical/biological sciences or medical laboratory technology, or completion of 60 semester hours
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory equipment operation
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
• Close vision, color vision, and depth perception capabilities
