Modern Data Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Develop components of data pipelines for ingestion and transformation
• Execute and monitor data quality validation processes
• Implement solutions based on specifications from senior engineers
• Assist in translating business requirements into technical implementations
• Write efficient SQL queries and Python scripts for data processing
• Follow team standards and engineering best practices
• Participate in code reviews and maintain documentation for data processes
• Troubleshoot issues in data pipelines

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Working knowledge of cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake or equivalent
• Familiarity with AWS services, particularly S3 and Glue
• Experience with RDBMS including Oracle, Postgres, or MSSQL
• Understanding of ETL concepts and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Control-M)
• Familiarity with GitHub, version control, and basic CI/CD concepts
• Understanding of data access control and security concepts
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and clear technical communication

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of containerization concepts
• Interest in API development
• Knowledge of event-based or streaming data architectures
• Willingness to learn about Asset Management and investment management industry domains
