Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, develop, and verify lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
• Evaluate customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements and ensure interface compatibility
• Perform various analyses to optimize system architecture, including affordability, safety, reliability, and survivability
• Develop and monitor requirements management processes, risk management, and technology readiness assessments
• Use or develop software tools to enable scheduling, resource apportionment, and performance characterization for satellite constellations
• Conduct design and analysis of communication systems, including link analysis, modulation, and coding
• Interface with other systems engineers to define measures of effectiveness and support system-level trades

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
• Experience in systems engineering, including requirements, functional decomposition, allocation, and verification
• Proficiency in at least one high-level software development language such as MATLAB, Python, or C++
• Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of related work experience (Level 3) or 9+ years (Level 4)
• Experience simulating satellite digital communications systems link effects (weather, interference, phased array antennas)
• Experience simulating satellite orbital design and coordinate transformations
• Proficiency with MBSE, SysML, and NoMagic Cameo
• Experience in customer requirements development and ConOps development
• Educational background in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering with a focus on satellite communication design
