Model and Inventory Assistant; OPCVM

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-quality teaching models to support the clinical skills curriculum
• Monitor the condition of existing models and perform routine maintenance, repairs, or replacements
• Manage OPCVM inventory, including tracking usage, forecasting needs, and coordinating ordering and distribution
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of clinical skills laboratories, ensuring all equipment and consumables are available
• Maintain accurate documentation of model construction processes, specifications, and supply inventory
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to enhance veterinary education and solve technical model challenges
• Support the main campus CIVET workshop and the Director of CVM Model Building
• Supervise veterinary student research assistants contributing to model development or inventory management

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid and current driver’s license
• Ability to meet University driver eligibility requirements
• Willingness to perform occasional overnight travel for program-related activities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in silicone-based molding, woodworking, construction, or model-building
• Familiarity with the veterinary medical field
• Relevant experience in higher education
• Knowledge of university program goals and objectives
