Mobility Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients before and after skilled care provided by nurses or rehab therapists
• Demonstrate safe patient handling skills and competence with equipment including beds, wheelchairs, stretchers, and oxygen
• Safely mobilize patients within beds, to/from chairs, and to/from commodes under clinical guidance
• Set up, adjust, and take down mobility equipment such as mechanical lifts, walkers, canes, and crutches
• Assist with patient turning schedules, basic range of motion exercises, and managing lines/tubes/drains during mobility
• Facilitate patient comfort by answering call bells and providing wheelchair transport for discharge
• Document inpatient interventions accurately within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Maintain effective communication with the clinical team regarding patient status and timelines

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers, or equivalent credentialed within 30 days of hire
• Ability to lift, carry, or push/pull up to 50 pounds occasionally
