Mobile Repair Technician

Responsibilities

• Conduct railcar inspections to ensure compliance with AAR rules and regulations
• Perform necessary repairs using current procedures and hand/power tools
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all invoicing, inspection, and work order documentation
• Participate in safety assessments, equipment inspections, and safety committees
• Perform confined space monitoring and create hot work permits
• Transload various materials to and from rail and trucks
• Follow all safety rules and practices to maintain a secure work environment

Requirements

• Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in railcar maintenance or manufacturing
• Proficiency in one or more disciplines: Air Brake Testing, Welding, Gasket Valves and Fasteners, or coating application/inspection
• Ability to read and understand engineered drawings
• Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights
• Ability to use various tools including hammers, torches, wrenches, hydraulic jacks, and pneumatic tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with welding, valves, or mechanical repairs
• Familiarity with AAR Interchange rules and Field Manuals
• Experience mentoring or training lower-level technicians
