About the role

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC systems, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing, and building mechanical systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair work orders on facility lighting and other installed systems.
  • Conduct facility inspections and due diligence to report on conditions impacting client operations.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies, which may require light travel during emergency events.
  • Manage the operation and repair of boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, and steam distribution lines.
  • Maintain stock and inventory control for necessary parts and supplies.
  • Recommend improvements to preventive maintenance programs and submit monthly operational reports.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company safety directives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of technical building engineering experience.
  • Valid state driver's license with a clean DMV record.
  • EPA Section 608 Universal certification for CFC and HFC-based refrigerants.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, boilers, pumps, and refrigerant systems.
  • Basic computing skills including proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, and crouching.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate of an apprentice program or trade school.
  • Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Experience with building automation systems and fire/life safety systems.
