Mobile Heavy Duty Truck Diesel Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site repairs, fleet maintenance, and roadside assistance for customer accounts
• Execute work on repair orders in accordance with dealership and factory standards
• Diagnose malfunctions and interpret diagnostic test results to perform necessary repairs
• Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, battery checks, and equipment lubrication
• Inspect, repair, or overhaul brakes, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and engines
• Repair or replace malfunctioning mechanical or electrical components
• Test-drive vehicles to ensure correct operation following repairs
• Communicate with service advisors, dispatchers, and parts departments regarding job status and needs

Requirements

• Four or more years of diesel technician experience
• Technical or Trade School Certificate
• Valid DOT health card
• Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs
• Physical ability to bend, stretch, kneel, squat, stand, and walk for prolonged periods
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Certifications in Brakes, Drive Train, Diesel Engines, Electrical/Electronic Systems, HVAC, or Suspension and Steering
• Experience with Preventive Maintenance Inspections
