Mobile Equipment Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy industrial equipment including Front-End Loaders, clamp forks, and caterpillar forest machine track loaders to unload log trucks and load logs into production equipment and storage areas
• Inspect equipment and report potentially unsafe or improperly operating equipment to the appropriate contact
• Understand mix, mix piles, and mix targets when feeding various types of fiber into the process
• Perform daily checks and basic maintenance such as blowing, washing, and greasing to keep equipment in good working order
• Monitor and adjust wood yard control room operating parameters to meet safety, quality, and productivity targets
• Maintain proper paperwork and perform daily housekeeping duties to uphold company standards
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Internal company certification required
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions
• Proficient in mathematics and measurement
• Willing and able to operate heavy material moving equipment requiring extended periods of sitting, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Willing and able to work in outdoor environments, at elevated surfaces up to 50 feet, and in various weather conditions including temperatures above 100°F and below 32°F
• Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous heavy industrial equipment experience, driving license, or certification
