About the role

Responsibilities

  • Operate stake body or flatbed trucks (GVW 10,000 to 26,000 lbs) to transport materials, office furnishings, and equipment.
  • Direct and oversee the loading and unloading of vehicles and material handling.
  • Provide functional supervision to laborers, helpers, and student workers involved in moving and hauling services.
  • Operate heavy machinery including boom trucks, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
  • Manage the delivery and pick-up of surplus property, ensuring all inventory and tag numbers are correctly verified.
  • Assemble and set up multi-sectional staging, risers, and modular office systems for special university events.
  • Perform manual labor tasks including power washing and minor repairs on event furniture.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in mobile equipment operations.
  • Valid Class D Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
  • Physical capability for heavy lifting, manual labor, and meeting the physical demands of the role.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required to meet university needs.
