About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on facility mechanical, electrical, lighting, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
  • Operate and maintain boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, and lines used for steam and water distribution.
  • Conduct facility inspections and due diligence to report on conditions impacting client occupancy and operations.
  • Respond effectively to building emergencies, which may require light travel or after-hours availability.
  • Maintain stock and inventory control for necessary parts and equipment.
  • Recommend improvements to the preventive maintenance program and submit monthly operational reports.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company safety directives, including the use of proper PPE.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of technical building engineering experience.
  • Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • EPA Section 608 Universal certification for CFC and HFC-based refrigerants.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, and electrical distribution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting at least 50 lbs, climbing, and working in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate of an apprentice program or trade school.
  • Experience with building automation systems and fire/life safety systems.
  • Knowledge of energy management systems and techniques.
